Compare the odometer with the inspections
The dashboard reading should be higher than at the last inspection. A drop is a clear warning sign.

Check for registered debt
Ask the seller to pay off the debt and have the lien removed before you pay — otherwise it can become your problem.

Read the defects from the last inspection
Ask whether they were fixed, and ask for the garage receipt.

What can I see for free?
Basic data from the Danish Motor Register (Motorregistret): make, model, variant, body type, fuel, power, gross weight, number of seats, registered colour, first registration date and VIN.
How much is the full report?
The full report costs DKK 129 per car as a one-off payment. There is no subscription and you don’t need an account.
Where does the data come from?
From public registers: vehicle data from Motorregistret, inspection reports and odometer readings from Færdselsstyrelsen (the Danish Road Traffic Authority) and registered debt from Tinglysning (the Danish land and personal property register). Technical specifications and paint codes come from our own catalogue.
How do you spot a rolled-back odometer?
We put every odometer reading from the car’s inspections on a timeline. If the number drops from one inspection to the next, we flag it clearly in the report. It doesn’t prove fraud, but it’s a sign you should ask questions.
How do I see if there is debt on the car?
Liens on cars are registered in Denmark and follow the car when it is sold. The full report shows whether there is registered debt on the car. If there is, agree with the seller that it is paid off and the lien removed before you pay.
Can I see who owns the car?
No. Owner details are personal data, and we don’t show them. The report is about the car — not the person.
Why is the paint code only “likely”?
The Motor Register only stores the colour as text, e.g. “Red”. We work out the factory paint codes from make, model and year. The exact code is on a sticker in the car, usually in the door frame or engine bay.
